Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Sideline, whether as a coach running your business on it or as a parent/client booking a session through a coach's page. By using Sideline you agree to them.

1. What Sideline is

Sideline is software that lets independent sports coaches manage bookings, athlete progress, and payments. We provide the platform; we're not a party to the coaching relationship itself — that's between the coach and their client.

2. Coach accounts

As a coach, you're responsible for:

• The accuracy of the information you enter, including about the athletes you coach
• Keeping your login details secure
• Complying with your own legal and safeguarding obligations as a coach working with clients, including minors — Sideline is a record-keeping and booking tool, not a substitute for your professional duty of care
• Setting your own prices, cancellation policy, and arrangements with your clients

3. Subscriptions & billing

Coach subscriptions include a free trial period, after which a monthly fee applies as shown on our pricing page. Subscriptions renew automatically each month via Stripe until cancelled. You can cancel any time from your billing settings; you'll keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Founding-coach pricing, where offered, is locked in for as long as your subscription stays continuously active.

4. Client payments

When a client pays for a session through Sideline, payment is processed by Stripe and paid out to the coach's own connected Stripe account, minus Stripe's standard processing fees and a small Sideline platform fee. Refunds and cancellation policies for individual sessions are set by the coach, who can issue a refund through their dashboard at any time.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use Sideline for anything unlawful, to store data you're not entitled to hold, or to attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service.

6. Liability

Sideline is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable and secure, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and to the extent permitted by law our liability is limited to the fees you've paid us in the preceding 12 months. We're not responsible for the coaching services themselves, which are a matter between coach and client.

7. Ending your account

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or is used unlawfully.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as Sideline evolves. We'll post the new version here with an updated date; continuing to use Sideline after a change means you accept it.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
